3 running for mayor in Burns while 7 candidates seek 4 commission seats

Incumbent Mayor Jeff Bishop faces challenges from Commissioner Lewis Orcutt and Landon Mathis in his bid for re-election in Burns following Thursday’s deadline. Seven candidates will be seeking election to two-year terms on the four-member board of commissioners in Burns. Incumbents Steven Hayes, Chris Holland and Jerry Baker are joined on the Nov. 6 ballot by Bill Allen, Jim Anderson, Sammy Spann and former police chief and Mayor Edgar “Shot”Grove. Candidates have one week in which to withdraw from the race.
