3rd annual Banebow 5K Fun Run/Walk is Saturday at Montgomery Bell State Park

The 3rd annual Banebow 5K Fun Run/Walk is set for Saturday at Montgomery Bell State Park. The event is the main fund-raiser for Banebow, a non-profit organization providing mental, physical and spiritual assistance to families who have suffered the sudden loss of a child. The organization was formed by former Dickson County residents Drayson and Sonya Beasley following the sudden death of their nine-month-old son Bane Alton Drake Beasley in August 2010. Saturday’s event includes the 5K run and walk, as well as other activities such as face painting, music and more. Race-day registration begins at 8 am and the run and walk start at 9:00. The deadline for advance registration is tomorrow. Registration for participants 12 and older is $35, 6-11 years old is $25 and 5 and under is free. Banebow provides grief counseling, childcare, financial assistance and other services for families. For more information on Banebow or Saturday’s 5K Fun Run/Walk, visit banebow.org.
