The Drug Free Dickson Coalition will present a program next week explaining how you could be held liable and criminally responsible for the actions of someone attending your party. As the holidays approach, many open houses and parties will include serving alcohol and hosts should understand their responsibility for their guests. Assistant District Attorney Ray Crouch will be discussing the Social Host Law and its ramifications that could result in criminal charges or civil lawsuits if a host knowingly allows someone who is impaired to drive. The law was recently in the news when a Nashville business was sued after two guests left the party intoxicated and were involved in a fatal wreck. The coalition also will be discussing future events and planning. The Drug Free Dickson Coalition community meeting will be 6 pm Thursday, Nov. 15, at the Dickson County Emergency Medical Services building on Cowan Road. For more information on the coalition or next week’s community meeting, call Coordinator Anita O’Dell at 686-3128.
