The Dickson County Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Chapter 28 needs volunteer drivers to transport veterans to and from their appointments at the VA hospital and clinics. The Tennessee City Volunteer Fire Department is now accepting applications for a FIRE FIGHTER 1 recruit class. Class is 96 hours and includes hands on learning and requires 2 days of live burn training at the Tennessee Fire Academy in Murfreesboro. If you have ever wanted to learn more about Dickson County and its history, here’s your chance. Become a volunteer guide at the Clement Railroad Hotel Museum. Volunteers spend four hours every week on duty to guide visitors through the building, explaining its history as well as the history of Dickson and Dickson County. All volunteers are trained by the museum staff before they begin.
