Dickson County High School’s wrestlers saw their team season come to an end in a 38-33 loss to Beech Friday in the Region 7-AAA tournament at Clarksville. The Cougars will now begin preparing for the individual tournament coming in two weeks. Despite pins from Dakota Sullivan, Luke Humphreys and Fletcher Valentine along with decision victories for Adelaido Pantaleon, Beau Badon and Brodie Donegan, the Cougars were again undone by forfeits in three weight classes, giving the Buccaneers 18 free points. Clarksville, which beat Hendersonville in the semifinals, would rally to top Beech 34-30 to claim the region championship again. The Wildcats and Buccaneers move on to the state duals this week at the Williamson County Ag Expo Center in Franklin. The individual state tournament begins Feb. 14 in Franklin.
