Creek Wood High School swept a non-district tuneup from Nashville Christian Tuesday night in Charlotte. The game had been rescheduled from earlier in the season when the Eagles went deep into the state football playoffs. Rachel Bell scored 25 points including four three-pointers as the Lady Red Hawks crushed NCS 60-24. An 11-3 run in the second period staked Creek Wood to a 13-point lead at intermission and the Lady Red Hawks dominated the second half 33-10. Creek Wood has already clinched the top spot in next week’s District 11-AA Tournament at Stewart County. In a fast-paced game full of long-range bombs, the Red Hawks torched the Eagles 73-58. The Plunkett brothers combined for 35 points with Rollie scoring 21 and Ross adding 14. An eight-point halftime lead quickly grew as Creek Wood rode five treys in the third to the 15-point margin it would hold until the final buzzer. Creek Wood closes out the regular season Friday hosting Waverly. The Lady Red Hawks will enter the postseason as the top seed with a first-round bye and the Red Hawks will go in at number three with a Tuesday quarterfinal in Dover.
