The Dickson County Board of Education has posted two principal openings for the school year beginning this fall. The board is accepting resumes through May 3 for principal of Dickson County High School and Stuart-Burns Elementary School. DCHS Principal Ed Littleton announced last month he will be vacating the principal’s position and returning to the classroom after eight years as the top administrator of his alma mater. Director Dr. Danny Weeks announced in February that Lisa Cooper will be retiring as principal at Stuart-Burns at the end of the school year. Both positions are now posted on the Dickson County school system’s website, which says the deadline for resumes and letters of interest to be turned in to Director of Human Resources Hillary Hall is 11 am May 3. A Monday deadline is listed for several coaching vacancies, including head boys basketball coach at DCHS to replace Kevin Tuck, head volleyball coach at DCHS to replace Bert Newberry, basketball cheerleaders coach at Creek Wood High School to replace Sherry Swaw, head girls basketball coach at Dickson Middle School to replace Barry Downs, head boys basketball coach at William James Middle School to replace Caleb Baker and an assistant wrestling coach at Dickson County High School.
