Colonels looking for second win of week while Tigers opening season against Bearcats

William James Middle School looks for its second win in three days while Charlotte Middle will try to start its season again tonight. After blasting Houston County 22-0 Tuesday in White Bluff, the Colonels head to Harpeth for a 6:30 pm kickoff. Quarterback Peyton Allen threw for a touchdown and ran for another in the win over the Irish. The Tigers saw their scheduled opener at Dickson cancelled due to lightning last week and now will kick off their season hosting Cheatham Middle at 6:30 tonight. The Dickson-Charlotte game is not expected to be rescheduled. The Dragons are having trouble getting 2014 started. Coach Scotty Roberts was only able to confirm a seven-game schedule and now appears to have lost the Charlotte contest, leaving Dickson with only six games. Tonight’s scheduled game against E.O. Coffman has been rescheduled to 4 pm Saturday in Lawrenceburg. Coverage on the RFC Sports Network begins with the A-1 Signs Pregame Show at 3:45. Next week William James heads to Hickman County, Charlotte hosts Clarksville Academy and Dickson has an open date that Roberts has been trying to fill. Dickson County and Creek Wood high schools open their seasons with their sixth meeting Aug. 22 at Dickson County Stadium.
