Cougar Ben Wolcott named TGA Junior and Tennessean Midstate golfer of the year

Ben Wolcott

Dickson County High School senior Ben Wolcott has been named the Tennessee Golf Association’s junior player of the year and Midstate golfer of the year by The Tennessean. The Ole Miss signee is ranked the state’s top junior golfer by the TGA. Wolcott shot the best round of the TSSAA Class AAA tournament on the second day, sinking a birdie on his final hole to rally for a three-way tie for first before losing in a playoff. He is the first Cougar to appear in the TSSAA tournament all four years. Cougar Freshman Hunter Wolcott was named to the The Tennessean‘s All-Midstate second team. Hunter Wolcott was just two strokes off the lead after the first day of the state tournament, before fading to finish tied for seventh. The Wolcotts are sons of 1979 state champion and former PGA tour member Bob and Valarie Wolcott of Burns.
