Dickson County High School’s soccer team advanced to the District 10-AAA tournament championship with a tough 1-0 win over West Creek Tuesday. Trevor Daniel scored the lone goal of the game while Holden Foster came up with another shutout in net for the Cougars. The win sets up a championship duel between Dickson County and Rossview, the two teams that tied for the regular season district title and battled to a 1-1 tie in the season opener. The Cougars will travel to Rossview Thursday at 7 pm for the championship match. Both Dickson County and Creek Wood’s softball teams were knocked into the losers brackets of their district tournaments with losses Tuesday. The top-seeded Lady Cougars rallied to tie the game with three runs in the sixth but gave up a seventh-inning, game-winning RBI by Cheasley Pridgen in a 5-4 loss to Northeast. Dickson County will battle for its tournament life hosting Kenwood at 5:00 today. Creek Wood squandered several scoring opportunities despite getting only four hits in a 3-0 loss to Stewart County and will face elimination in the losers bracket. Dickson County baseball saw its season end in a 9-1 loss to top-seeded Rossview in the District 10-AAA tournament. The Cougars earned a rematch with the Hawks by slipping past Northwest 9-8, but fell to Rossview in the doubleheader, which sends the Hawks against Clarksville for the district championship. Creek Wood soccer also ended its season Tuesday in a 6-0 loss at White House in the District 10-A/AA tournament.
