Cougar wrestlers drop two meets despite winning more matches than opponents

Dickson County High School’s Cougar wrestlers won more matches than their opponents in a three-way meet Tuesday but lost the matches due to forfeits. Unable to compete in all the weight classes, the Cougars gave up 18 points in forfeits to Brentwood Academy and 24 to Overton. The Eagles won 39-31 despite DCHS winning seven of 10 contested matches. The Bobcats won 36-32 even tough the Cougars took six of 10 contested matches. Fletcher Valentine, Beau Badon, Luke Humphreys, Macon Webster and Austin Goetz all won both their matches, with Webster scoring two pins and Humphreys getting two technical falls. Shawn Vincent, Hunter Smith and Brodie Donegan each went 1-1 while Adelaido Panteleon and Nathan Glascock dropped both matches. The Cougars travel to Franklin to face the Rebels and Wilson Central Thursday.
