Dickson County High School’s Cougars claimed the District 10-AAA championship and will be at home for the first round of the TSSAA playoffs Friday night. The Cougars will host 5-5 McGavock at 7 pm Friday. DCHS claimed the district title after finishing in a three-way tie at 7-1 in district play with Henry County and Northeast. The Cougars earned the crown on a tie-breaker of best overall record at 9-1. Dickson County is the top seed for quadrant 3 in the playoff brackets. McGavock slipped into the playoffs after beating Hillwood 22-14 Friday night. Henry County, Northeast and Kenwood of District 10 all made the Class 5A playoffs. The Patriots travel to Hamilton, the Eagles head to Station Camp and the Knights take on Beech. The Dickson County-McGavock winner will face the survivor of Mt. Juliet and Independence next week.
