Dickson County took sole possession of first place in District 10-AAA and Creek Wood grabbed its first win of the season in Friday night football action. The Cougars crushed Northeast 28-6 in Dickson County Stadium, remaining undefeated in the district with two games remaining. Otis Gerron rushed for over 100 yards and scored two touchdowns. Luke Humphreys was 3 for 3 passing with touchdown tosses to Corey Rion and Joseph Lombardo. The defense stuffed the Eagles as Tyler Brand and Isaiah Burns both had a pair of interceptions. At 8-0 and 6-0 in the district, Dickson County travels to Clarksville Friday with a chance to clinch at least a tie for the district crown. After an 0-6 start to the season, Creek Wood tallied its first win 30-7 in Waverly Friday. Ian Spence ran for two scores and kicked a field goal while Justin Tummins returned an interception for a touchdown and ran for another score. The Red Hawks gave up a touchdown on Waverly’s opening drive, then shut down the Tigers on a rainy night that saw a 45-minute lightning delay in the fourth quarter. Creek Wood begins a three-game homestand Friday hosting Montgomery Central.
