Craig Morgan heading to Sweden for five-day, 200-mile dog sled adventure

Craig Morgan

Country music singer and Dickson County resident Craig Morgan is preparing for the adventure of a lifetime when he will travel to Sweden next month to participate in a 200-mile dog sled excursion above the Arctic Circle. Morgan will be participating in the sixth annual Fjallraven Polar, a five-day dog sled trek featuring 20 people from 10 different countries. The expedition will travel from the Norwegian shores of the Arctic Ocean to the mountaintops of Sweden, all pulled along by huskies. With the help of Fjallraven experts, Morgan will learn how to drive and care for his own team of dogs, and to pitch a tent and survive in the snow and sub-zero temperatures. An avid ooutdoorsman and U.S. Army veteran, Morgan’s expedition will be chronicled for his award-winning Outdoor Channel show Craig Morgan All Access Outdoors. “Everyone would agree I have been a daredevil all my life,” Morgan said. “I love to travel to new places and will try just about anything, so when Fjallraven invited me to join them for the Polar, I said ‘yes’ without giving it a second thought.” In addition to the dog sled trek, Morgan will get to experience the Northern Lights and visit the Sami people, the indigenous people of Sweden. While recovering from recent shoulder surgery, Morgan is growing a full beard to protect his face for the expedition. With his latest single More Trucks Than Cars, Morgan is set to resume performing March 19 at Joe’s Pub in New York. His Arctic trek will be April 9-13.
