Creek Wood High School’s Lady Red Hawks claimed fifth place in the Winterfest Shoot-Out in Sevierville Saturday with a 58-44 victory over Heritage High School of Maryville. Rachel Bell led the Lady Red Hawks with 21 points in a contest that turned into a three-point shooting contest with a combined 15 baskets from beyond the arc in the game. Lamarra Gordon added 15 and McKenzie Haislip had 10, including a pair of treys. Creek Wood is back in action Friday at Nashville Christian in a contest rescheduled from earlier in the season. Dickson Middle School’s Lady Dragons grabbed third place in the Chargers Christmas Invitational in Murfreesboro Friday by beating Stewarts Creek 49-39. Dickson had its 36-game winning streak snapped the day before in a loss to Christiana Middle School. Emily Beard led the Lady Dragons with 29 points. Dickson Middle returns to the court Jan. 7 hosting New Providence.
