Creek Wood High School’s Riley Kilian finished fourth in the Class A/AA girls’ 3200-meter final Wednesday at the TSSAA Spring Fling in Murfreesboro. Kilian finished with a time of 12 minutes flat, an improvement of eight seconds over her qualifying time in the state sectional. Lipscomb Academy senior Barbara Ball won the state title for the second year in a row with a time of 11:24, 12 seconds better than her sectional qualifying time. A freshman, Kilian was the only track and field athlete from either of Dickson County’s two high schools to qualify for the state meet. She also competed in the state cross country meet last fall and finished 22nd. Lipscomb’s Ball also won the cross country title for the third straight year.
