After a weekend of tournament action, local high school softball and baseball returns to a busy schedule despite schools being out for spring break. Dickson County’s Lady Cougars headed back to Hendersonville for the Commando Classic and finished pool play 4-1 with a 5-1 win over Science Hill, 7-1 over Pope John Paul II and 2-0 over Siegel. In the elimination bracket, the Lady Cougars beat Station Camp 6-4 before falling 3-1 to Knoxville Gibbs. In a tournament in Smyrna, Dickson County’s baseball team beat Eagleville 11-3, then dropped three straight, falling to Smyrna 2-1, Father Ryan 8-2 and Centennial 9-2. Creek Wood’s Lady Red Hawks went to Jackson for a tournament and beat Fayette Academy 13-3, Murray, Kentucky, 6-0 and tied Obion County 5-5. Creek Wood baseball had the weekend off but starts off the week hosting district rival Waverly at 7:00 tonight. Pregame coverage starts at 6:45 on the RFC Sports Network.
