Deadline today to RSVP for 5th annual Dickson County Help Center fund-raising banquet

Today is the deadline to RSVP for Saturday’s 5th annual Dickson County Help Center banquet. The fund-raising dinner will be 6 pm Saturday at Dickson First Assembly on Highway 70 West. Executive Director Renee Boehm said there are still a couple of tables for eight and individual seats available. The fund-raiser includes a dinner presented by Sisters Restaurant, entertainment by the Cross Creek Bluegrass Band and guest speakers Allen Weller, minister at Dickson First United Methodist Church, and 69th District State Representative David Shepard. There is no cost for the dinner but donations will be accepted. There also will be a silent auction 5-5:45 before the dinner with a variety of items including gift certificates to area restaurants and businesses, a two-night stay at Cajun Lake Lodge and a football autographed by Tennessee Titans coach Mike Munchak, a gas grill and many other items. The items can be previewed and bids placed 9 am-3 pm today and Friday at the help center at 103 West College Street. The banquet is being sponsored by several area businesses, which allows 100 percent of the donations from the event to go to the help center’s assistance programs, which have already provided over $18,000 in utilities assistance since the first of the year. To RSVP a seat or reserve a table for you and seven friends, call the help center today at 441-0076.
