Deputy wakes 3 people inside burning home on Highway 48

A Dickson County Sheriff’s Office deputy awoke three sleeping residents whose home was on fire late Tuesday night. According to a statement from the sheriff’s office, Deputy David Hamilton was on patrol when he noticed a shed on fire behind a home on Highway 48 South. When he checked further, Hamilton discovered a vehicle also on fire and flames had reached the corner of the nearby home. After getting no response at the door, Hamilton made a forced entry and discovered a woman asleep on the first floor. She told the deputy two other people were upstairs. Hamilton and Cpl. Bobby Lindsey, who had arrived by that time, roused the other occupants who were all able to get out of the home. The Tennessee City Volunteer Fire Department and Dickson County Rescue Squad were able to extinguish the fire before it damaged much of the home.
