The Dickson Christmas Parade is scheduled for 2:00 Sunday afternoon. Sponsored by the Downtown Dickson Business Association, the annual parade is held the Sunday after Thanksgiving. The theme for this year’s parade is “Deck the Halls.” The parade will begin lining up at noon Sunday on the campus of Dickson County High School. Parade entries are asked to enter from Henslee Drive and volunteers will be on hand with lineup information. The parade will exit the DCHS campus onto North Charlotte Street and head south between the two nursing homes. It then turns left on McFarland Street and then right on Highway 48 heading toward downtown. The parade passes through downtown on Main Street, turning left before the railroad tracks by the Bank of Dickson and crossing to Church Street, where it turns left in front of the Dickson Fire Department. It then turns right on College Street, proceeds to Academy Street where it turns left and then enters the campus of Dickson Middle School to disband. The town of White Bluff will hold its Christmas parade with the theme “Christmas Movies” on Dec. 14. For more information, call Dixie Kerr at town hall at 797-3131. The town of Charlotte will hold its Christmas tree lighting ceremony on Dec. 7 on the Courthouse Square. The Charlotte Middle School Choir will perform at 5:30 pm followed by the arrival of Santa Claus at 6:00. Bring a camera for pictures with Santa.
