The agricultural exhibits and shows that are the foundation of county fairs remain a strong presence at the 89th annual Dickson County Fair next week. The livestock and crop barns are always popular stops along with the midway, beauty pageants and motorized events in the arena. Livestock shows begin Monday with the Open Beef and Commercial Show at 6:30 pm. Tuesday is the sheep show at 7:00 and judging of the popular Poultry Show. Wednesday has the seventh annual Cat Show at 6 pm and the annual Dog Show is Thursday at 6:00. The Dairy Goat Show is Friday at 6:30 pm. The fun 4-H Fairest of the Fowl Contest is Saturday at 9:30 am followed at 10:00 by the 4-H Pullet Show and Sale. The Middle Tennessee Meat Goat Classic Show is 2 pm Saturday. The exhibit buildings and Crosby Center are open 5-9 pm Monday-Thursday, 5-10 pm Friday and 10 am-10 pm Saturday.
