Dickson County High School graduate Brandon Abell has committed to play soccer at Martin Methodist College in Pulaski, Tennessee. Abell was a standout on defense for a Cougar soccer squad that went undefeated in District 10-AAA action over the past two regular seasons, won the 2012 district and region titles and finished 15-3-2 this season advancing to the region semifinals. The son of Tammie and Andy Abell, he will join former teammate Cody Rampaul, who was a freshmen this season with the RedHawks, who were ranked in the NAIA top 25. Martin Methodist wrapped up an 11-6 season with a loss in the last TranSouth Athletic Conference tournament. Abell is the fourth player from this year’s Cougar squad to earn a soccer scholarship following Holden Foster signing with Sewanee, Sterling Hobbs signing with Cumberland and Justin Hawkins signing with Union.
