Dickson police are trying to identify a couple that had three children with them when they apparently stole several items from Wal-Mart. A photo taken by the store’s security camera shows the couple walking out of the store with two small children in their shopping cart and a third holding the woman’s hand. Detective Chad Fussell said the couple also walked out with several computer tax preparation software packages and a bag of dog food without paying for any of it and setting off the store’s shoplifting alarm. The couple and children got into a large maroon four-door sedan and drove off. “What is amazing is that they did this with their kids,” Fussell said. Even more troubling to the detective is the fact that one of the children appears to be old enough to understand they were stealing. “I will definitely make the judge aware of that if we find out who they are,” Fussell said. Police have released a picture of the couple and three children leaving the store and ask anyone who can identify them to call the Criminal Investigations Division at 441-9577 or the department’s confidential tip line at 441-9555. The surveillance photo can be seen on the department’s Facebook page or at wdkn.com.
