Today is election day for the city of Dickson. Voters are choosing a council member from each of the city’s four wards for a four-year term. Only once race is challenged. In the Fourth Ward, incumbent Mike Outlaw is opposed by former Councilman Robert Blue. The incumbents in the First, Second and Third wards are unopposed. Polls are open 7 am-7 pm today at First Baptist Church in the First Ward, Restoration Church in the Second Ward, Dickson Senior Citizens Center in the Third Ward and Pomona Baptist Church in the Fourth Ward. Only 134 early and absentee ballots were cast representing about 1.5 percent of the city’s 8,400 registered voters. The Dickson County Election Commission will announce the results of today’s election at Dickson City Hall after polls close tonight. The winners will begin their new terms Oct. 7.
