The Drug Free Dickson Coalition will introduce its new coordinator and discuss the coalition’s mission and goals in a community meeting tonight. The meeting is at 6 pm in the Dickson County Emergency Medical Services building on Cowan Road and is open to anyone interested in joining the war on drug and alcohol abuse in Dickson County. Anita O’Dell will be introduced as the coalition’s new coordinator, replacing Enoch Lankford, who resigned a month into his tenure after determining he could not give the coalition the time and attention it requires. O’Dell was one of the coalition’s top picks when the board of directors was searching for a replacement for founding Coordinator Dan Buckner, who resigned in June. O’Dell will be discussing where the coalition is heading and how it wants to get there, as well as state requirements that come with the grant that established the coalition. The grant was recently renewed for a second year. For more information on tonight’s Drug Free Dickson Coalition meeting, contact O’Dell at 686-3128.
