The Dickson County Family and Community Education County Council has nominated Sunnye McKeel for the Heart of FCE competition. This national awards program is designed to pay special tribute to the unsung FCE members who have made a difference in their communities through their club work. After first joining FCE in Henry County in 2003, McKeel moved to Dickson County in 2007 and continued her membership in a local club. She has served as president and vice president for her local club and is treasurer and public relations educational leader for the Dickson County FCE Council. She has been active in many community projects, including Habitat for Humanity, the Cancer Crusade Auction, making items for mission trips and more. She was named Creative FCE Club’s Member of the Year and in 2010 was named the Best of the Best recipient for Dickson County, the Western Region and State FCE. Her nomination has been sent to the Western Region FCE and the winner will be named at a conference in July and advance to the state competition.
