It might not turn out to be such a good day to play with storms in the forecast for tonight, but the local high school baseball and softball teams are all scheduled for tournament action this weekend. Dickson County and Creek Wood’s baseball teams are scheduled to participate in the Good Day to Play Tournament starting today at multiple locations. Creek Wood’s Red Hawks are scheduled to host Northeast at 5:00 today, Forrest at 5:00 Friday and Germantown at 3:30 and White House-Heritage at 5:45 Saturday. Dickson County’s Cougars will host White House-Heritage at 7:15 today, Germantown at 7:15 Friday and Forrest at 11:00 and Harpeth at 1:15 Saturday. The RFC Sports Network is scheduled to broadcast Dickson County and Heritage tonight and Creek Wood and Forrest on Friday. The National Weather service says there is a 20 percent chance of rain today, increasing to 100 percent with severe storms possible tonight and a 20 percent chance of rain and cooler temperatures for Friday. Meanwhile, Creek Wood’s Lady Red Hawks are scheduled to play at Montgomery Central at 5:00 today then the Diamond Classic Tournament hosted by Waverly at Buckner Park in Dickson this weekend. The Lady Red Hawks will face Henry County at 4:50 and Dyersburg at 8:50 on Friday. Teams will play a third pool game on Saturday morning then be divided into gold and silver divisions for an elimination tournament. Dickson County’s Lady Cougars are scheduled to play in a softball tournament in Clarksville Friday and Saturday. In a rescheduled match held Wednesday, Dickson County tennis swept Springfield. The Lady Cougars squeezed out a 5-4 victory while the Cougars swept the Yellow Jackets 9-0. Also on today’s schedule, Dickson County soccer is at Franklin and Creek Wood is at Waverly.
