Dickson County High School freshman Lea Lea Carter proved why she is getting a lot of attention from major college scouts already as she led the Lady Cougars to victory in her first varsity basketball game Tuesday night. Carter’s 25 points sparked Dickson County to a 55-43 win over Brentwood in the 2012-13 season opener. But the host Bruins didn’t leave empty handed as the boys held on for a 40-34 victory over the Cougars. DCHS struggled offensively and could only draw to within six points in the final quarter despite the efforts of Victory Nissan MVP Caleb Tuck. DCHS will play its home opener and first District 10 contest of the season Tuesday when West Creek visits the Cougar Den.
