Cold weather couldn’t stop the Lady Cougars from taking their first game of the Commando Classic 2-1 over Wilson Central in Hendersonville Wednesday. Brooklin Lee was outstanding through four innings holding the Lady Wildcats to one unearned run while striking out six. Lee, a freshman, then picked up her first RFC Sports Player of the Game when she drove in the winning run with a sacrifice fly to right field that scored pinch runner Selena Crafton who skirted the tag. In their second game against Hendersonville, Payton Grove scored on a Becca Estes sacrifice fly in the first and Dickson County led 1-0 but Hendersonville scored four in the bottom of the first. The Lady Cougars could never regain the momentum and fell 4-2. Tuesday night’s rained out game against Rossview has been rescheduled for 5:30 Wednesday at DCHS.
