Senior citizens get a chance to enjoy parts of the 89th annual Dickson County Fair with a special day today. From 8 am-1 pm senior citizens will get free parking and free admission. The livestock barn and exhibit buildings will be open, there will be mule-drawn wagon rides and a free lunch 11 am-noon. The Dickson County Fair’s newest event takes over the grandstand arena tonight as trucks of all kinds will be chained together for a battle of strength in the Truck Tug of War starting at 7 pm. Also on the Friday night schedule are the Pre-Teen Miss Fairest of the Fair pageant for girls 10-12 at 6 pm in the Greer Building and the Dairy Goat Show at 6:30 in the livestock barn. Live music under the pavilion includes Taylor Eagleson, Kendall Hopper and the Jimmy James Band. Gates open at 5 pm and midway rides begin at 6:00. Gate admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children with a $20 armband for unlimited rides. Parking is $2. The Student Night special starts at 9:30 pm with gate admission at $3 and a $15 armband starting at 10:00. The midway will remain open until 1 am.
