Funeral service for long-time Worley Furnace Pastor Louis Horner at 1 pm Saturday

Funeral services for Rev. Louis Horner will be Saturday at the church he pastored for 35 years. Rev. Horner died Dec. 5 at the age of 86. In 1961, Rev. Horner was named pastor of the Worley Furnace Missionary Baptist Church on Eno Road and led it through a period of growth until 1996. He was named Pastor Emeritus and was active in the construction of the congregation’s new church building. A viewing for Rev. Horner will begin at noon Friday at Taylor Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be at noon Saturday at Worley Furnace Baptist Church with the service set for 1 pm. Burial will be in the East Dickson Cemetery. Rev. Horner is survived by a daughter, Theresa Jolivette, a granddaughter and a great-granddaughter.
