Funeral services for former WDKN broadcaster Warren G. Medley have been set for 2 pm Sunday at Taylor Funeral Home. Mr. Medley died Wednesday at NHC Health Care at the age of 91. Retired from the Tennessee Department of Employment Security, Mr. Medley had hosted several programs on WDKN since 1956. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Friday, 10 am-8 pm Saturday and noon until the service Sunday at Taylor Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2 pm Sunday in the chapel with Bro. Aaron Satchwill officiating and Rev. Kenneth W. Forte delivering the eulogy. Burial will be in the Dickson County Memorial Gardens. A native of Putnam County where he grew up on a family farm, Mr. Medley joined the Civilian Conservation Corps after graduating high school and came to Dickson County has part of the crews building Montgomery Bell State Park. In 1943 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during World War II. After his service he returned to Dickson and began his career with the state of Tennessee, then joined the staff of WDKN in 1956, where he hosted several programs and broadcast community, sports and news events. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret. He is survived by his son, Warren Everett Medley and wife Carolyn of Dickson, granddaughter Michelle Andrews and husband Kenneth, great-grandson Tommy Andrews and wife Jennifer, great-granddaughter Misti Dunez and husband Billy, great-great-grandchildren Brandon and Brianna Andrews, brother Omer, and sisters Martha, Jewell, Rachel, Billie and Jessie. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
