Dickson Middle School’s Dragons suffered their first defeat of the season in a mistake-filled 12-6 overtime loss to Spring Hill. Turnovers and penalties hurt both sides in a game dominated by defense. The Generals jumped on top 6-0 with a short scoring pass, but Dragon quarterback Demontez Coleman tied the game with a 33-yard sprint up the middle. Tied 6-6 at the end of regulation, Spring Hill got a one-yard sneak to jump in front in overtime. Then the General defense recovered a fumble on Dickson’s fourth-down play to secure the win. The Dragons are 2-1. Charlotte Middle’s Tigers improved to 2-2 by rolling over Cheatham County 32-6. The William James Colonels fell to 0-3 with a 14-12 loss to Fairview on Tuesday. Tonight, Dickson County’s Cougars look for their first win as they host Columbia in the 2013 home opener at 7:00. Pregame coverage on the RFC Sports Network starts at 6 pm.
