It was definitely a night for pitchers as Dickson County and West Creek squared off in baseball and softball Monday. Cougar Luke Humphreys threw a no-hitter as Dickson County rolled to a big District 10 win 5-0 over the Coyotes. In the softball game, it was a battle of pitching styles as West Creek baffled Dickson County with tumbling, slow curves and screwballs while Lady Cougar Montana Harris powered her way to a three-hitter and a 7-0 victory. Harris struck out 8 and gave up no walks in the complete-game win. After four scoreless innings, the Lady Cougars finally got the measure of West Creek’s pitcher in the fifth and scored five runs with a 2-RBI double by Brooklin Lee the big blow.
