Creek Wood sophomore Riley Kilian cut more than two minutes off her time from last year and finished 11th in the TSSAA Class A/AA state cross country championship Saturday. In her second trip to the state final, Kilian finished in 20:05.67, just one second out of the top 10. As a freshman, Kilian finished 22nd with a time of 22:25 at the Steeplechase course at Percy Warner Park in Nashville. Lady Red Hawk sophomore Caroline Edmondson’s time of 24:07 earned 107th place out of 186 runners at Saturday’s championship meet. Central Magnet junior Claudia Smith won the state title with a time of 18:57 while Signal Mountain claimed the team championship. Bailee Dean of Cane Ridge won the girls’ Class AAA title in 18:08 while Morristown West took the team crown. For the boys, Westley Pectol of Greeneville won Class A/AA in 15:36 and Aaron Templeton of Hardin Valley Academy won Class AAA in 15:10. Central Magnet won the boys’ Class A/AA title and Brentwood claimed Class AAA.
