Both Dickson County and Creek Wood’s softball teams fought off elimination to remain alive in their district tournaments Wednesday. The Lady Cougars got a complete-game, two-hit shutout from Brooklin Lee to beat Kenwood 6-0. Lee struck out 10 to knock the Lady Knights out of the District 10-AAA tournament. The Lady Cougars will host Northeast at 5 pm today in the losers bracket final, with the winner to play Clarksville at 6:45 for the district championship. The Lady Wildcats knocked off Northeast 4-2 Wednesday and remain the only unbeaten team in the tournament. Dickson County or Northeast will have to beat the Lady Wildcats twice to take the crown. The Lady Red Hawks remain in the hunt for the District 11-AA title after eliminating Montgomery Central 4-0. Creek Wood will host Waverly at 5 pm today in the losers bracket final with the winner to face Camden for the district crown. Pregame coverage on the RFC Sports Network starts at 4:45. Dickson County’s Cougars go after their second straight District 10-AAA soccer championship tonight at Rossview at 7 pm. The Cougars have already earned a berth in the Region 5-AAA Tournament where they also are the defending champions.
