After finding themselves behind 7-1 after just an inning and a half, the Dickson County Lady Cougars slowly climbed their way back to claim a 10-8 softball victory over Rossview Wednesday night. Defensive mistakes allowed the Lady Hawks to build the six-run lead but the Lady Cougars settled down in the field and began piecing together a run or two each inning until they tied the game 7-7 with two runs in the fourth before taking the lead for good in the sixth. Dickson County out-hit Rossview 14-11 but hurt its cause with five errors. The Lady Cougars improved to 7-3 and grabbed the win in their first District 10 contest of the season. Cougar baseball heads to Chapel Hill, Tennessee, for a tournament where they face Lincoln County and Centennial today, Dyer County Friday and Houston Saturday. Creek Wood baseball travels to West Creek for a 6:30 contest and the Lady Red Hawk softball game of the week is Creek Wood hosting Waverly at 5 pm with pregame coverage on the RFC Sports Network starting at 4:45. Creek Wood soccer is at Harpeth at 4:00 and Dickson County soccer faces Columbia at 7 pm.
