One streak ended while two others continued on the basketball court Tuesday night. Dickson County’s Lady Cougars suffered their first loss of the season 40-30 against Rossview in the Cougar Den. Lea Lea Carter scored 16 for the 6-1 Lady Cougars who trailed 25-22 at the half. Meanwhile, Creek Wood’s Lady Red Hawks rolled to their ninth straight win 67-37 over Camden in Charlotte. Rachel Bell led Creek Wood with 20 points. Dickson Middle School’s Lady Dragons improved to 12-0 by crushing Whitthorne 56-19 in Columbia. Dickson County’s Cougars won their ninth in a row as JeQuan Lewis scored 19 in a 52-44 win over Rossview. After trailing by two at halftime, Creek Wood’s Red Hawks rallied to beat Camden 60-55 with Rollie Plunkett scoring 22. Dickson Middle’s Dragons evened their record at 6-6 by beating Whitthorne 39-20. The Charlotte Middle Tigers topped Cheatham County 44-25 but the Lady Tigers fell 34-27. Dickson County’s wrestlers went 1-3 in a quad match at Brentwood Tuesday, beating Cane Ridge 47-24 while falling to the Bruins 50-19 and Father Ryan 59-18. The Cougars were missing a couple of key wrestlers due to illness and are still struggling with forfeits in several weight classes.
