Lady Dragons roll over West Creek again, Dragons let early lead slip away

The second time around produced just about the same result as the Dickson Middle Lady Dragons rolled over West Creek 55-12 Thursday and the Coyotes stopped the Dragons 45-35. The Lady Dragons shot out to a 24-2 lead in the opening quarter and never looked back in improving to 18-1. Emily Beard led all scorers with 17 while Cierra Smith had 11. After losing to West Creek by four points in November, the Dragons got off to a hot start to hold a 14-9 lead but couldn’t hold onto it. The Coyotes used a three before the buzzer to take the lead at intermission and pull away for the 10-point win in the second half. Trey Wiedmann led Dickson with 16 points. The Dragons host Northeast Monday. Tonight Dickson County High School is at West Creek and Creek Wood travels to Waverly with both doubleheaders starting at 6:00 with pregame coverage at 5:45 on the RFC Sports Network. Dickson County heads to Harpeth Saturday for a 4:00 doubleheader.
