Last week’s rain and wet playing conditions reduced most of the weekend tournaments down to one day. After dropping their opening game to Henry County 9-0, Creek Wood’s Lady Red Hawks battled back with two wins to get to the Silver Division title game in the Diamond Classic Softball Tournament at Buckner Park. The Lady Red Hawks topped Dyersburg 7-4 and Cheatham County 4-1 before falling in the championship 6-4 to Assumption High School of Kentucky. In the Good Day to Play baseball tournament, Creek Wood went 1-2 as the Red Hawks beat Forrest 6-1 but fell to Northeast 12-6 and Germantown 8-0. Dickson County’s Cougars split with a 10-1 win over Harpeth and a 5-2 loss to Germantown. In a tournament in Clarksville, Dickson County’s Lady Cougar softball team went 3-2. DCHS beat Goodpasture 3-0, Roane County 4-0 and Kenwood 4-2, while falling to Lexington 5-1 and Northeast 4-3. In today’s action, Dickson County hosts West Creek in softball at 5:30 and baseball at 6:30, and; Creek Wood baseball is at Stewart County at 7:00. The RFC Sports Network will broadcast Dickson County and West Creek softball with pregame coverage beginning at 5:15.
