With two district games remaining on the schedule, the Creek Wood High School Lady Red Hawks clinched first place and the top seed for the upcoming District 11-AA tournament with a 52-36 win at Cheatham County Tuesday night. Leading by only seven at halftime, the Lady Red Hawks used a 13-2 run in the third quarter to pull away for the victory. With leading scorer Rachel Bell held to just nine points, the Lady Red Hawks were led by Lamarra Gordon’s 19. Creek Wood is 10-0 in the district and will hold the top spot in the tournament. Cheatham County is in second at 6-3. The Red Hawks fell behind the Cubs by 10 points in the opening frame and were unable to dig out of the hole despite a furious fourth quarter and fell 81-61. Rollie Plunkett had 19 points to lead the Red Hawks while Michael Morgan added 16. The Red Hawks fell to 6-4 in the district and stand in third behind Waverly and Cheatham County. Creek Wood will host Montogmery Central Friday.
