Creek Wood’s Lady Red Hawks wrapped up a perfect District 11-AA record Friday night by pounding Waverly 62-33. Rachel Bell led all scorers with 12 points while only playing in the first half. With a 12-0 record and first place in the district, the Lady Hawks get a first-round bye in the district tournament that opens today at Stewart County. Creek Wood will play at 4 pm Friday against the winner of Wednesday’s Montgomery Central-Stewart County contest. Creek Wood’s Red Hawks let a three-point lead slip away in the last five minutes as Waverly grabbed a 75-69 victory Friday. Michael Morgan led the Red Hawks with 20 points while Chico Plunkett added 15 and Rollie Plunkett scored 13. Austin Millinax led Waverly to victory with 23 points to give the Tigers the number two seed in the tournament. With a 7-5 district record, the Red Hawks enter the postseason as the number three seed and will face Stewart County at 7:30 pm Tuesday in Dover.
