Lady Red Hawks need overtime to put away Sycamore, Bell scores 33

Creek Wood’s Lady Red Hawks needed overtime to keep their record perfect with a 44-39 victory over Sycamore Thursday night. Rachel Bell scored 33 points in leading Creek Wood to a 6-0 start. Sycamore earned a split on their trip to Charlotte as the War Eagles topped Creek Wood 58-41. Dickson Middle’s Lady Dragons improved to 8-0 by demolishing West Creek 54-8. Dickson jumped out to a 24-3 lead in the first quarter and cruised from there. Emily Beard had 20 points. The Dragons fell behind by 14 points in the opening period then rallied, but came up just short 43-39. Braxton Horner sparked the rally with seven points off the bench. The Charlotte Tigers crushed East Hickman 43-18 while the Lady Tigers fell 19-16 and Cheatham County beat the William James Lady Colonels 39-14.
