Creek Wood High School’s Lady Red Hawks play in the Region 6-AA volleyball tournament today with a trip to the state sectional on the line. The top two teams from the region will advance to the sectional. Creek Wood battles Page and Hickman County goes against CPA in the tournament semifinals at Hickman County High School this afternoon. The winners meet for the region title at 7 pm. Creek Wood finished as runner up in the District 11-AA tournament, falling to Hickman County in three games. The Lady Red Hawks had blanked Waverly and slipped past Fairview 3-1 to earn a spot in the title match against the Lady Bulldogs. A win over Page today advances Creek Wood to the sectional regardless of the championship match outcome. The Region 6 runner up will travel to the Region 5 winner and vice versa for the sectional at 7 pm Thursday. Meanwhile, Lady Red Hawk soccer plays for a shot at the District 11-A/AA championship in the semifinals today. Creek Wood eliminated Richland 4-0 Monday and will host Montgomery Central at 5 pm today with the winner advancing to the district championship. Allison Bone, Alison Flowers, McCree Hutcheson and Dani Travis each scored a goal for Creek Wood. Montgomery Central knocked off Waverly 7-0.
