Creek Wood’s Lady Red Hawks rebounded from their first loss of the season to beat Camden 60-39 on the road Friday night to remain unbeaten in District 11-AA action. After being held to a season-low nine points in the loss to Sycamore, Vanderbilt signee Rachel Bell bounced back with 19 as the Lady Red Hawks led by 14 at the half and steadily pulled away for the win. Brittany Gosnell scored 13. The Lady Red Hawks are 11-1 overall and 5-0 in the district as they head to East Tennessee for the Johnson City Honda Trailblazer Christmas Invitational where they will face the Sullivan East Lady Patriots at 6 pm Thursday. Creek Wood’s Red Hawks battled Camden back and forth Friday night, trailing by four at halftime then leading by one as the fourth quarter started. The Lions used three-pointers to retake the lead, then hit enough free throws down the stretch to hang on for a 70-67 win over the Red Hawks, who missed a chance before the buzzer to send the game into overtime. Isaac Edmondson led Creek Wood with 31 points. Gabe Cummings scored 12, Ross Cummings had 11 and Ross Plunkett added 10 as Creek Wood fell to 4-5 overall and 3-2 in District 11. The Red Hawks are not playing in a Christmas tournament and will return to action after the holidays in a Jan. 3 district doubleheader at Lewis County.
