A former Dickson resident faces a December trial on charges he raped a child multiple times over a four-year period. 30-year-old Dylan Thomas Johannes Sr., whose current address is listed as Franklin Road in Lewisburg, faces four counts of rape of a child for assaults that occurred from 2004 to 2008 while he was living in Dickson. Identified only by initials in the indictment, the victim is reported to be a female under the age of 13 when the alleged rapes occurred. Assistant District Attorney Ray Crouch said Johannes was not indicted until this past March because investigators had a hard time gathering evidence for the prosecution because the alleged victim has since moved to California. In Dickson County Circuit Court Monday, Public Defender Jake Lockert asked for a continuance of his client’s scheduled trial because Johannes has just recently been indicted on new charges including a probation violation. Crouch agreed to postponing the trial because the state has to go through several channels to subpoena the out-of-state victim and have her return to Dickson County to testify. Judge David Hayes granted the motion to continue and scheduled Johannes’ trial for Dec. 18. Johannes remains in the Dickson County Jail on $100,000 bond.
