Live music, food, testimonials and more will be part of the day-long Hope-A-Thon for the Dickson County Help Center being broadcast on WDKN and The One FM 9 am-5 pm today. The Hope-A-Thon and Sock Hop at Events on Main 6-9 pm tonight have a goal of raising at least $20,000, which will be matched by a local family. Templeton Thompson, Angel Mary and the Tennessee Werewolves, Alexandra Lee, Bernie Nelson, Elizabeth Lyons, Kayla Calabrese, Wynn Varble and Texaco Country Showdown Tennessee winner Jonathan Wells are part of the lineup for live entertainment from the help center at 108 West College Street. Sisters Restaurant and Domino’s will be providing food throughout the day and children from area churches have recorded prayers that will be broadcast each hour. Staff, volunteers and people who have been assisted through the many programs of the Help Center also will discuss what the center means to them and how it has impacted their lives. Every $25 donation during the Hope-A-Thon will get two tickets to tonight’s Sock Hop. Tickets at the door are $25 per person. To make a pledge during today’s Hope-A-Thon, call 441-0076 or stop by the center in the Tom Waychoff Building.
