Nashville police arrest Charlotte man for soliciting sex from 14-year-old girl

Nashville police have arrested a Dickson County man they say tried to arrange to have sex with a 14-year-old girl. Richard C. Maule, age 45, of Charlotte was arrested this week when police said he showed up at the girl’s West Nashville apartment complex expecting to have sex with the teen in the bathroom at the swimming pool. The Metro Internet Crimes Against Children unit says Maule posed as the father of a teen-aged friend of the girl and began sending sexually explicit text messages asking the girl to send nude photographs of herself. A detective took over the texting and Maule asked what he believed to be the teenager to meet him for sex. When he showed up at the apartment this week he was met by police and arrested. Maule is charged with soliciting a minor for the purpose of statutory rape and soliciting the sexual exploitation of a minor.
