Despite the cold weather that has come with the start of spring, Northwest’s baseball team brought some hot bats to Creek Wood Saturday. The Vikings pounded out 18 hits in beating the Red Hawks 14-3. Creek Wood remains winless through the first seven games of the new season. Viking Brandon Pociask collected 12 strikeouts in getting the win while Creek Wood’s offense struggled with just seven hits for the game, falling behind 4-0 in the third inning. Northwest got home runs from Ty Hasten and Cayce Bedlau to pull away for the big win. The high school games scheduled for Monday have been postponed because of the extreme cold and rainy conditions. Creek Wood will host Harpeth at 7:00 Wednesday while Dickson County will travel to Northeast for softball at 5:30 and baseball at 6:30. Tuesday’s schedule has Lady Cougar softball hosting Northwest at 5:30, Lady Red Hawk softball hosting Montgomery Central at 5:00, Red Hawk baseball at Harpeth at 7:00, Cougar soccer at Clarksville at 7:00 and Red Hawk soccer hosting Macon County at 6:00. Tuesday’s Dickson County-Northwest baseball game has been moved to 6:30 Thursday.
