Overturned tanker spills 250-750 gallons of fuel on Slayden Marion Road Monday

A Monday morning wreck spilled 250-750 gallons of fuel when a tanker truck overturned on Slayden Marion Road. The wreck closed the road from the intersection with Highway 49 to Leatherwood Road for several hours while crews worked to stop the leak and upright the tanker. Nobody was injured but Dickson County Emergency Management Agency interim Director Donny Bear said several hundred gallons of fuel spilled into a nearby yard in the 2000 block of Slayden Marion Road. While the tanker had been removed, Bear reported to the county commission that crews are expected back Tuesday morning to dig out the soil affected by the spill with the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation on hand to oversee the operation.
